As Doctors, our concerns are the increment of Physical, Mental and Emotional health issues in most of the industries due to work pressure and long sitting or standing hours.

Teachers’ and Employee’s productivity in the long run is at stake because we have found many patients coming to us with various Ergonomic issues such as knee pain, back pain, frozen shoulder, neck pain, etc.

With that, we also found that the issue is not just physical anymore but it has triggered to evoke mental and emotional health issues such as Anxiety, Tension, Stress, Distraction, Fear, Anger, etc.

Even the Journal of Postgraduate Medicine published an article by Dr. A Banerjee, Dr. DY Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Center, Pune in Jan 2019 says, “ India, like most rapidly growing economies, is facing a looming epidemic of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs). Market forces promote junk foods, sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs), tobacco, and alcohol. Increasing automobiles on the roads lead to air pollution. Changing work environments with long hours in front of computers leads to a sedentary lifestyle. Young and old choose games on their computers or smartphones over outdoor sports. Facebook friends are replacing the warmth of genuine human contacts leading to social isolation. While unhealthy diet, tobacco, alcohol, and sedentary lifestyle are known determinants of NCDs, a meta-analysis suggests social isolation as a risk factor for coronary heart disease (CHD) and stroke.”

Hence we are writing to you for taking up Educators Wellbeing Initiative (TWI) and Employee Wellbeing Initiative in your Organization and groom them to take preventive measures on how to Tackle any Ergonomic Attack and how to handle any mental and emotional health issue.
